Melbourne Storm – Melbourne Storm NRL team are an Australian professional rugby league club that plays in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The club was formed in 1997, and made their debut in the semi-professional Australian Rugby League (ARL) competition as the “Melbourne Storm”, before continuing to compete in the NRL after the collapse of the ARL.
The club is based at AAMI Park in Melbourne, Victoria. The Melbourne Storm was a founding member of the NRL and one of only three clubs, along with the Sydney Roosters and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles to have never been relegated from the first-grade competition since its introduction in 1998. They are also one of two clubs (the other being the Brisbane Broncos) never to have won the wooden spoon in its respective competition.
The club is owned by Bart Campbell (chairman) and Ron Gauci (major shareholder) and coached by Craig Bellamy.
