The NRL handicap betting market has many variables to consider before placing a bet.
A common factor amongst most NRL handicaps is that one side will have some points added onto their score – with the other team having a negative amount of points subtracted from theirs.
The positive or negative number assigned is called the line, and the added/subtracted points are called the line-bet.
In order to line-bet, punters should review the 1st and 2nd quarter scoring records of both teams and then look for trends in scoring that can be used to determine a line-bet.
Although the punter must be aware that a team can score differently on alternate weeks, trends can still be observed and used in a match.
