Canberra Raiders

The Canberra Raiders are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the national capital city of Canberra. They currently play in the National Rugby League, and have won the premiership three times, once in 1990 and again in 1994 and 2004.
The Canberra Raiders were admitted to the breakaway Super League competition in 1997 after lobbying by former cricketer Malcolm “Mal” Albery. They are the only non-NSWRL team to have ever won the premiership. They have also appeared in two grand finals, reaching the 1994 Grand Final, which they lost to Canterbury Bulldogs, and the second of which was won in 2004. The club is based in Bruce, Australian Capital Territory (ACT), with their home ground at GIO Stadium.

The Canberra Raiders club was formed in 1982, after the move of the Queanbeyan Blues club to Canberra. The Canberra Raiders have a rich history. In 1990, the Green Machine won their first premiership against the Penrith Panthers. Following the Broncos towards the end of the 90s, they were a competitive team.
