Penrith Panthers

Penrith Panthers are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the western Sydney suburb of Penrith. They compete in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership, as well as the NSW Rugby League and Queensland Rugby League state leagues.

The club was formed in 1967, and played their first match in 1968. They have played their home matches at Pepper Stadium since they were formed. They are one of two foundation clubs still present in the NRL, the other being the Sydney Roosters.

The Penrith district playing fields, where the club started from, are picturesque and a wonderful place to watch rugby league or any other sport for that matter. There are plenty of facilities available, including four rectangular fields, one oval field and a grandstand which accommodates 2,000 spectators.

At the start of the new millennium, they reached the finals for the first time since 1987.

The Penrith Panthers are the only club to have played every season in the NRL since its first season in 1988. The Panthers have played a total of 717 first grade games and in excess of 13,000 matches at all levels.
