List of UFC Bets Explained

The following are the most popular UFC bets across major Australian sports betting sites & sports betting apps.

Head-to-head

It is one of the most upfront types of UFC bets, in which you have to predict the fight’s winner. The majority of fights happen to have a winner at the end, with only about 1.5% of sessions concluding in a draw or no competition.

Method of victory

Method of victory is the same as Moneyline and round Betting. In this type of UFC bet, you have to predict how the fight will end instead of who will win the fight? Typically, the options for each fighter are:

  • Decision
  • Knockout or Technical Knockout
  • Disqualification
  • Submission

For instance, you place a bet that fight is going to end by technical knockout. If the fight ends by this method, you win. But if it ends by submission, you lose. However, whatever option you opt for, keep in mind all have a different payout. If you bet on two tired/uninterested fighters with tiny knockout strength, then expect to see lesser payouts on that particular choice.

Double Chance

A double Chance bet combines two UFC odds, including Moneyline Bets and Method of Victory Bets. In this bet, you have to choose both:

(1) who will win the fight

(2) In what method they are going to win the fight

It is a little hard to predict, but you will get much better payouts if you get both things right. For instance, you bet on a player you think will win and by the knockout method. If both the predictions are correct, you win; otherwise, you lose.

Total Rounds

Total Rounds bets are like “go the distance” props that use an over/under format. There are five rounds in the match, and you must select only the round, not a specific time at which the match will end. In other words, it doesn’t matter who wins the fight; you have to predict the total round of the fight. Then, depending on the match, the number of rounds scheduled, and the fighters’ style, the punter will set an Over/Under total on the assumed number of rounds completed.

For instance, if you think Magomed Ibragimov will drop Nurmagomedov in the third round, he is your UFC choice for the Round Bet. And if your prediction turns out to be correct, you win.

Will the fight go the distance?

In the “go the distance” UFC bet type, you have to predict how far the fight will go – (a) until the end of the last round or (b) stop early. In other words, bet on if you think all the rounds will be over, in which it will go on the judge’s scoreboards.

For instance:

  • If you think the fight will end before Knockout, Disqualification, or Submission, then bet that the fight wouldn’t go the distance.
  • If you think both fighters will survive until the judgement, bet it will go the distance.

Finally, it doesn’t matter who wins the fight, but how long the fight lasts.

Live Betting

Live Betting, also known as in-play stakes, where you can bet on the fight once it has started. In other words, you can place a bet between fighting rounds and predict what will happen in the upcoming rounds.

The odds on everything will be based on how the previous rounds have gone. For instance, a fighter is continuously losing before the fight; in such cases, your chances of winning are high.

Let’s say the fighter comes out and defeats the favorite in the first round. Then, if you make a live bet on them between round one and round two, you won’t get such a good chance because now it looks like they have a much better chance of winning the fight. But, the odds on the favorite are now going to be a lot better, so if you think they’ll still be able to do the same, then get some tremendous odds on them.
